If you are interested in becoming a mentor for the 2019-2020 academic year, please apply by August 10, 2019.
Serving as a mentor for the Dream Project is a great opportunity to work with promising youth. The opportunity requires dedication and compassion and comes with great reward. Our mentees and mentors build lasting relationships that enable both of them to grow and enjoy their higher education experiences.
The mentoring program is held between the months of October through April every year. Sessions are held weekly on Wednesdays (excluding holidays) from 5:00pm to 7:00pm in Arlington. Additional activities and events will be scheduled throughout the year and mentors are certainly welcome to participate.
In considering prospective mentors, the Dream Project looks for individuals who:
- Demonstrate a knowledge of the college admissions process;
- Are passionate about serving others and believe in higher education opportunities for all students; and
- Can commit to (most of the) weekly mentoring sessions.
Prospective mentors are required to submit a Mentoring Interest form as well as a background check. Please note that there is ongoing training and guidance throughout the sessions.
